Hi guys! Today we’re going to be talking about two things that you can do to instantly address lower back pain. Now when talking about lower back pain were not inclined to think that the clenching of our teeth could have a recurrence on our lower back pain. You see when the jaws, maxillary and mandibule, is what connects the anterior and posterior chains together, so in essence it would virtually be impossible for you to do a strenuous act without clenching your teeth. The problem with that is that in today’s fast-paced world where we’re doing a million things at a time, we’re more stress than what we used to be. As such we’re probably clenching our teeth, and I’m talking about teeth clenching 24 hours a day, not during paradoxal sleep. So in essence clenching your teeth throughout the day could be the cause of your lower back pain. So what we know when the teeth are in contact the head tends to move forward and creates what we call, an anterior scapular plane, so from a postural point of view this is not optimal because then you find yourself having a forward projection of your center of gravity. When talking about fighting gravity efficiently the head shoulders and glutes need to be perfectly aligned. Giving rise to perfect physiological curves of the spine these curves allow us to fight gravity efficiently, as such gravity will fall right in the center of your back causing lower back pain. So what can you do about it? Tip number one : Red Dots. Take six red dots and position all six in different areas of your house at the level of your eyes and the idea behind this is when you’re looking at the red dot you need to become aware of whether or not your teeth are in contact if they are then you are clenching your teeth. Tip number two feeds into the first one, if you do catch yourself clenching your teeth then you need to stop clenching and you will do so by positioning your tongue on the roof of your palate and you will need to hold this tongue posture for approximately anywhere between one to two minutes every single time you catch yourself clenching your teeth, just by doing these two simple tricks you’re going to be giving your jaws and neck muscles a break you’ll be realigning your center of gravity less pressure on the lower back and you’ll improve your quality of life thanks for watching!
