We all have a favorite one-hit wonder that
song you just can’t help but sing or dance along to every time you hear it. But as is the nature of one-hit wonders, we
often have no idea what happened to their performers after that initial success. In fact, you may not even realize that several
of your favorite one-hit wonders have sadly passed away. Rich Cronin
Run up to any ’80s or ’90s baby and say, “New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits,” and
they’re pretty much guaranteed to respond with, “Chinese food makes me sick!” For those of you who are still trying to figure
out what the New Kids have to do with Asian cuisine, these lyrics are actually the chorus
of the uber-popular 1999 hit “Summer Girls” by the boy band LFO. The group consisted of Devin Lima, Brad Fischetti,
and Rich Cronin. They were TRL posterboys and their catchy,
fun-loving jam was on heavy rotation. After complaining of painful headaches, Cronin
was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer in 2005. That same year, he established the Rich Cronin
Hope Foundation to bring awareness to the importance of the volunteer bone marrow registry. He was able to bounce back from his health
crisis and in 2008 released a solo album called Billion Dollar Sound. He also appeared as a cast member on the VH1
reality show Mission: Man Band. Cronin announced that he was back in the studio
in 2010, but we never got to hear what he was working on. He passed away on September 8, 2010 after
suffering a stroke at the age of 35. Michael Cuccione
To capitalize on the popularity of boy bands in the ’90s and early-2000s, the fictional
group 2Gether was created. A self-titled MTV movie parody followed, along
with a spin-off series that chronicled the formation of the band. The made-for-TV film became so popular that
the guys became real-life pop stars. Among the characters was Michael Cuccione,
who played Jason “Q.T.” Mcknight. When the MTV spin-off series aired, Cuccione
was noticeably absent from the last few episodes. His character suffered from a fictional ailment,
but in real life, Cuccione was battling health issues, too. At the age of 9, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s
lymphoma. After successful rounds of chemotherapy and
a bone marrow transplant, his uncle told MTV News that he was cancer-free. But the treatments left him with respiratory
issues that claimed his life just eight days after his 16th birthday. Melanie Thornton
Along with her bandmate Lane McCray, Melanie Thornton helped form the ’90s group La Bouche. Their Euro-inspired pop songs boomed through
the speakers of nightclubs across the globe, and their most popular hit, “Be My Lover,”
peaked at number 6 on the Billboard charts. By 2000, Thornton decided to leave the group
behind, and she released her first and last solo album called Ready to Fly in May 2001. On November 24th, 2001, Thornton was aboard
a plane traveling from Berlin to Zurich which crashed just a few miles short of its final
destination, killing her and 23 other passengers. She was 34. Natina Reed
Shamari Fears, Brandi Williams, and Natina Reed started the 90’s girl group Blaque, and
their most successful song, “Bring it all to Me,” hit number 5 on the Billboard charts. Many compared the group to a younger version
of TLC, and Reed’s style was similar to TLC group member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who took
her under her wing as her protegé. In 2000, Reed starred in the hit Kirsten Dunst
flick Bring it On, but her future in the entertainment industry was cut short. On October 26, 2012, Reed was walking along
a Georgia roadway when a vehicle struck her. The driver called 911, and Reed was transported
to a hospital, where she died. She was 32 years old and left behind a 10-year-old
son. Dan Hartman
He may be dismissed by some as a one-hit wonder, but Dan Hartman was actually an accomplished
producer and songwriter who penned hits for James Brown, Tina Turner, and Joe Cocker. As a solo singer, Hartman made the Billboard
Top 100 Chart multiple times, though his most well-known jam, “I Can Dream About You,” was
his only song to crack the top ten. That was in 1984, and just ten years later,
he succumbed to a brain tumor, which was a complication from AIDS. Minnie Riperton
Long before Mariah Carey blew listeners away with her nearly ear-piercing high-octave range,
singer/songwriter Minnie Riperton secured her place in vocalist history with the high
note in “Lovin’ You.” According to Riperton’s husband, singer/songwriter
Richard Rudolph, “Lovin’ You” originated from a melody Riperton was humming over a “jazz
samba” he was playing while she cooked a meal. They recorded the melody to use as a distraction
for their new baby, Maya, who quote “never wanted her mama out of her sight.” In case you missed that, yes, we’re talking
about a young Maya Rudolph of SNL fame. Riperton passed away just four years after
“Lovin’ You” made it all the way to the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Stuart Adamson
The UK pop band Big Country found international success with the track “In a Big Country.” MTV’s heavy rotation of the accompanying music
video catapulted it onto the Billboard Hot 100, despite the fact that it received little
radio airplay. The band continued making albums for more
than a decade after its smash debut, but the group never repeated its initial success. The
band was on hiatus after a brief reunion tour when lead singer Stuart Adamson’s body was
found in a hotel room in Hawaii after he’d been declared missing for more than a month. Adamson’s death was ruled a suicide. He was 34. Simone Battle
The creator of the Pussycat Dolls used the same formula of beautiful women, skimpy outfits,
and girl power songs to create the pop group G.R.L. Its members Emmalyn Estrada, Paula van Oppen,
Lauren Bennett, Natasha Slayton, and Simone Battle began recording songs in 2013 and really
broke out when they were featured on the Pitbull track “Wild Wild Love.” Then, tragedy struck. Battle was found hanging in her Hollywood
home on September 5th, 2014, and her death was ruled a suicide. Friends and family told investigators Battle
was allegedly suffering from depression and struggling with money issues. Though the group had just returned from a
successful overseas tour, sources claimed Battle feared G.R.L. would never become a
huge hit in the States. G.R.L. attempted to continue performing after
Battle’s death but disbanded nine months later. If you or anyone you know is having suicidal
thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
YouTube need fingerprint recognition to stop a fool like this calling super heroes one hit wonders…….u need some research donkey of the day
I am the only one that thought we'd at least hear their songs? I've had it with this channel.
If Minnie Ripperton a "one hit wonder". I'm about to get in the music business. Cause my chances of success are very high 🤷🤦
How DARE you call Minnie Ripperton a one hit wonder? She is a freaking legend. Blaque wasn't a one hit wonder, either. Their first album went Platinum and had THREE hits on it alone. FOH and do some research.
May they all rest in peace
😂😂😂😂
One hit wonders without the songs 😞😞😞
Big Country a 1 hit wonder? What the actual?????? Rubbish
Should had play the music so we can associate it with the artist.
The Amazing Minnie died from breast cancer. Definitely not a one hit wonder!

Dumbest non researched list ever. Not all one hit wonders. .. Try AGAIN…
shame on you for not even playing the songs ..wtf..
None of these are relevant.
Guess they never lived their dream out they started it but lost it! That’s tragic.
They all died as illuminati sacrifices. When you sign a Record label, you shall, not may or could or can you please. No, every single one of those artists are illuminati sacrifices. And whomever believes other wise is Delusional to the core. The problem that some of these artists come across, is that many times they don't want to do what are told to do or has threatened to expose the illuminati. If I would sign my name in blood, I will do whatever they ask me to do, Because I love life.
Idk any of those ppl not one but left eye died in car accident as wel smh so sad
Omg so all was not a one hit wonder i just needed you to like subscribe and watch geez stop writing same thing over and over and you wonder why black folk have a hard time getting ahead this has to be the dumbest comment session…
Not much use if we aren’t reminded of the songs 🤦🏻♀️
Big Country were NOT a one hit wonder band also it’s insulting to have Minnie Riperton on this list. Research better.

Big Country was NOT a one hit wonder.
Melanie Thornton was Not a one Hit wonder.
First of all blaque was not a one hit wonder
Minnie Riperton was far from a One hit wonder. She was also known as a whistle Queen.
Some of the artists mentioned were not one hit wonders, at all!! My advice to the creator of this video is to do your research, prior to reporting!
This video needs to be re-done with an apology
At least play a little bit of each song for Christ's sake! If it's a copyright issue figure it out!
Loving You and Back Down Memory Lane… That is two chart topping Hit songs…Minnie Riperton is not a one hit wonder…
I find it strange that alot of these groups lose a member…
Minnie Riperton was NOT a one hit wonder! Do some homework
B** I know my calculus it says you plus me equals US
Simone battle was murdered bro

Say it don't spray it i want the news and not the weather
It's amazing that, there are many thousands of people. Young & old, that suffer depression. And this has been going on, for decaes, unnoticed. Until now, where mental health, is becoming a worldwide concern. But, and this is a BIG but. There are still never enough places to go, to get help, where people are falling apart. We all pay, enough taxes, to get the required resources, for people that are having a malfunction, in there lives. And we would rather spend out tax dollar, tax pounds, tax euro or an y other tax revenue in this world on a nuclear bomb defence. So, tell me, what's right?
Nicki, can you please leave the number for the suicide prevention up a little longer at the end of you video commentaries where appropriate. I don't think anyone would mind. Thank you.
Be nice to hear a sample of the music.. I still dont know who half these people are. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Poor video
Hard to pity these puppets covering one eye and dickriding baphlomet. Didn't they get what they signed for in blood????
Gosh..
Hell noooo!!!! Mini Rippleton was NOT a one hit wonder.
She didn't hand herself.
Plus Big Country had 3 hits that I can remember from 1983, whilst Stuart Adamson was lead singer, so….. where do they get their facts x
That’s sad Simone died on my Birthday when she died I Turned 14 😭😭💯
Never heard of about 90 percent of these people.
Sorry.
They didn’t want to get mixed up in hollywoods sick n twisted industry so they were used as blood sacrifices
All blood sacrifices
Natina Reed was so gorgeous, I remember having the biggest crush on her back when I was in middle school. Rest easy babygirl. 😢❤
I farted 20 times during this video. Wasted time.
She wasn't ready to fly.
You should've played the song they were known for……..
This video is rushed and just sad. Half of these "facts" could have easily been researched. You got your views and your money with that interesting title though. Silly us for thinking this would be a video with good content🤦🏾♀ smh
Ummmm minnie riperton was not a one hit wonder neck yourself ‼️
Devin has died recently.
I am very upset that someone stuck Minnie Riperton on this One Hit Wonder list. I was just listening to a few of her songs on YouTube about a month ago. I don't know who came up with this list, but the whole One Hit Wonder thing is bull💩. Sometimes that's not even their best song. She is not the only one that I've seen this happened to. This is bull💩. No Mo Talk!!!.
…never heard of any of these nobody has beens…
Minnie Ripperton & Dan Hartman were not one hit wonders! If you think so you’re clueless!
Dan Hartman was also a member of the the Edgar Winter Group signing lead vocals on “Free Ride”.
It would have been helpful for you to play a clip from each song, since these are one hit wonders we aren't always going to recognize which song it is from just the title
They seem to have just googled artists who died and slapped a B.S. on it. They clearly didn't do their research. Minnie Ripperton was a successful artist in her time before she past away. "Back down memory lane", "my love", "flowers" and "loving you" are just the ones that popped in my head. Maybe instead of being a lazy channel do some actual research.
You can get your facts straight , Minnie Fullerton and Blaque wasn't one hit wonder….you must be British , huh wanker ?
Sellout I bet you want show both eyes. That's your your baphomet sign ha ha ha
Minnie Riperton was not a one hit wonder and should not be on this list. She had several hits….'Back down Memory Lane, Light my Fire with Jose Feliciano, Inside My Love, Here we go and many others songs. I loved her and miss a most remarkable and talented woman.
LFO had two hits, one was called "Girl on TV".
Minnie was not a one hit oneder
I didn't know a single person listed here in this video.
Wow that was depressing
Was that really the best picture you guys could find of Tina Turner.
Blaque was definitely not a one hit wonder
Since reading the comments and 90% are based on Minnie riperton not being a one time wonder . I might as well say the same thing and gets some likes🤣🤣🤣🤣
The minute I saw Blaque I was done with this
Minnie, a ONE hit wonder ? Blaque a one hit wonder ? Nicki Swift… you oughta be ashamed!
I disagree that blaque was a one hit wonder group, but nice video….R.I.P 2 all of them.❤
Minnie Ripperton wasnt a one hit wonder You Are dumb!
Minnie wasn't a one hit wonder and I never heard of Blaque. Who thinks these up?
Minnie riperton was not a one hit wonder
I'm only familiar with 3 of the acts in this video, but Minnie Riperton was so NOT a 1 hit wonder!
R I p to all
R I p Devon lemer
I remember grl
Dan Hartman released Relight My Fire so definitely not a one hit wonder. In fact as I'm typing this, most of these singers are not one hit wonders. Minnie released many albums and singles which were just as successful as Loving You. Unfortunately a badly researched video, which makes an unusual change. Normally good content on this channel
Minnie passed away many years ago of breast cancer.
If u didn't know she passed, your living under a rock. She was definitely not a one hit wonder.
means nothing if you don't play the songs 🙁 most people dont know the artists – just the hits
