My name is Lennart Arlinger and I live on Ekerö in Stockholm. For more than a year now, I have had a cochlear implant in my left ear. I have always been a high performer in life, but with my hearing impaired, I began to feel dumb in some situations. I noticed that I missed parts of the conversation at the lunch table. I was considering dropping certain assignments because I was afraid I would be an inconvenience. I never hesitated about having the surgery. There was so much positive experience of how good things could be. It meant the world to me that Lennart regained his hearing. It had been so quiet here at home and all spontaneity had fled. So we got back to our old relationship. I saw Lennart and I saw myself. Now I have received a GN ReSound hearing aid for my right ear. They work together, so now I can stream TV and phone right into both ears and this makes things so much better. Now I can be social with people again. I have found my old self again. I can easily spend time with my grandchildren again and hear what they are saying. Everyone should know that there is such an option because it gives you hope when your hearing deteriorates. I am very happy and thankful that I have received this implant. It has given me back a lot of quality of life.
