Welcome to the vitalife show I’m Doctor Janine Bowring and in this episode I’m talking about how to reverse hair loss and how to do it naturally. So the first thing that you have to realize is that your hair can follow for different reasons and really determining what that reason maybe is really important in terms of treating it naturally. So one of the most common reasons is because of a thyroid deficiency, so the thyroid isn’t working as well as it should it could be a protein deficiency in the diet as well so make sure you’re getting enough protein in the diet I think as women you know where notorious sometimes of not getting enough protein and we tend to lean sometimes towards too many carbohydrates so make sure that you’re getting you know whether it is vegetarian sources nuts and seeds as well as you know if you’re not vegetarian you’re getting enough meat maybe you have to do protein shakes whatever way that you can get enough protein in the diet this will really help you, as well as iron so a lot of vegetarians may be low in iron as well as b12 and this can cause the hair to follow as well if you have a lot of stress unfortunately stress causes the hair to fall out and managing your stress finding you know helpful ways to manage your stress whether it’s deep breathing maybe it’s exercise yoga talking about your feelings can be really helpful in terms of managing that stress and then you’ll see the hair falling out less and less. In terms of hormones and in men but also in women as well if there’s too much of the bad testosterone that’s called DHT this can cause the hair to follow it as well so this can be managed with different supplements but you really want to make sure that this is something that is addressed in terms of your hormonal balance maybe you’re having blood work done to test your hormones to make sure that you’re checking you know that those testosterone levels are not too high. So in the diet some great things you can do as we talked about increase your protein in terms of iron iron, rich foods so natural ones that you can do print prunes raisins you know of course meets blackstrap molasses is high in I and so this is something you can add into your daily diet. Decrease your stress levels and make sure you get enough essential fats as well so the essential fatty acid deficiency can cause the hair to fall out so make sure you’re getting those nuts and seeds avocados those healthy fats to help to feed the hair.
