Number one, you have to have the right equipment. You have to have a really good laser, and
I think the flying spot laser, at this point in time, is the best that’s made. And currently the WaveLight is the best laser in the world, and that’s what we use. As far as our lasers go, we have the newest technology. The EX500 laser which is able to track the
patient much better than the previous lasers have. The treatment time is down to about a third, compared to the previous lasers. That gives us a much more predictable outcome, in that the eyes don’t move as much, and the cornea doesn’t dehydrate as much. The newer lasers to create the flaps, give us a very safe profile to make a very thin, reproducible flap, decreases the dry eye issue in that
they really interrupt the innervation much less, much faster recovery for patients. They’re very thrilled with it.
