Hello guys! So someone in the comment section of my last video where I danced in public, asked Can you make a video on fear and anxiety and how you have dealt with it? And I thought that would be a great video topic. So here it is and thank you so much for such a great video idea. So first off, I have anxiety and I have fear just like anybody else, unless you are a super human or a machine, and I think anxiety and fear is kind of different because fear could be fear of anything but anxiety usually refers to social anxiety, right? And it is what you feel when you are interacting with other people . And I sometimes find dealing with anxiety much more difficult than dealing with my personal fear in life in general. I think the type of anxiety that I feel and you feel would be sort of different because because each of us you know has different experience and we experience different sort of anxiety that have different cause although all of them have in common that they all come from social interaction. But a large part of the anxiety that I feel mostly come from wanting to be treated nicely and friendly by other people and also wanting for other people to know that I am well-intentioned in this interaction however small it is. I also have some anxiety when I am filming or when I’m posting videos on YouTube such as, if my new video would be well-received by my viewers, things like that. And these sound quite small, but they are the things that are quite difficult to like not care about at all And I’m sharing some of the examples of the anxiety that I feel to let you guys know that I have fear and anxiety too. I’m not completely free of them. It’s something that I’m still working on and something that will never entirely go away but I guess how I deal with it despite it being there is the most important and I guess that’s the exact thing that you asked me, right? So here’s how I deal with my fear and hope it helps you even just a little bit. So first is I acknowledge that the fear or the anxiety that I feel is there, and I try not to think, “Oh, this should not be here.” The fact that I feel fear, anxiety and nervousness, I just accept. If I’m shy, I just let myself be shy. And if I’m nervous, I let myself be nervous. I noticed that the more I try to deny and hide the emotions such as fear, the more it grows. If I try to suppress it, then it resurfaces and I try to suppress it again, and then it resurfaces again, and that’s not a pretty cycle. So usually for me accepting how I feel itself and acting naturally accordingly is what works the best for me It doesn’t get rid of the fear right away or like entirely but neither does trying to get rid of it. And second tip is you don’t need to be brave in everything, but in the things that you truly believe is important. So the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson said, It means even the bravest person has fear. They just developed more courage to do something despite fear.. Oh my laundry’s done. They just developed more courage to do something despite fear because they either had the strong conviction to believe that something else is more important than their fear or they just simply wanted something so much that they had to be brave, they had to have the courage. So find something that you believe is truly important or simply something that you truly wish to do. It could be you know your small dream or small wish or it could be a big dream, or it could be something that’s on your bucket list; something that you want to do before you die. And I think after you’ve done it, you would feel even just a tiny bit of freedom, not because you don’t have fear but because you successfully did it despite feeling afraid or despite the process not being that easy and I think that’s probably the true meaning of freedom and the best type of freedom that you will ever get to feel. My last tip is So make your fear or pain or love or any sorts of emotion into an art. They say, emotionally sensitive people are more likely to become a great artist and I think there’s some truth in that. When you pay more attention to your feelings and accept them, you cannot but try to do something with it and usually those are artistic activities, because humans naturally crave freedom and the process of creating art does help us forget about what surrounds us. So I think the more emotionally sensitive you are, the more artistically involved you become. And what I mean by art is not always something so grand like playing a really cool musical instrument or painting fabulous scenery, or really cool dance moves.. I think art is anything that you do with heart. So even watching a movie could be an art too, if you are really emotionally and spiritually connected with the plot or the characters or the lesson of the movie. And yoga could be an art too, if you do it for the goodness of your body and you are 100% into the the flow and enjoy it. Writing a letter, What else? And also a deep conversation with your friend, or cooking could be an art too. These kinds of artistic experience do help alleviate the heavy emotions that a part of me doesn’t like to feel such as fear. Because it helps you get lost in the moment and really focus on the art that you are creating right now so you can really be in the present moment. So that was it how I deal with my anxiety and fear. I hope this helped you even just a little bit and please share how you deal with your anxiety and fear. I would really love to know and I will see you on the next video. Bye!
