– There are several different diagnostic tools that we use to figure out where pelvic pain is coming from and initially it just starts with a history and a physical exam to really target what the patient’s particular symptoms are and what areas of tenderness they have. And then that helps us
to determine what other tests or tools may be necessary, and sometimes that
includes laboratory work or imaging like ultrasound or CAT scans. Sometimes it may include diagnostic surgery, even a laparoscopy
or a hysteroscopy or a cystoscopy to evaluate
different organs in the body.
